W-h-a-t What?
April 21, 2009As M has learned more at school, I find her teaching herself more often. The other day, she was sitting at the table creating Multiplication problems for herself. Wow, I so totally never did that as a kid.
Yesterday I called her into my room for just a second. I wanted to show her something, but instead of just coming in, she felt the need to say “W-h-a-t What Mom?” She had this little grin on her face waiting for my reaction. I smiled, bopped her on the head, and called her a goof ball.
So now she is spelling to me? Yet another thing I have never done.

that is c-o-o-l, cool.
welcome to the wonderful world of having almost too smart for the rest of society children.
Yes but geek, you did that sort of thing as a kid so you can relate
The other thing that just gets me is when she chooses to watch “science shows” on PBS when she could be watching cartoons!
oh come on… science shows on PBS are MUCH cooler than cartoons EVER could be…
geek is so wrong. i never thought i’d disagree with geek, but someone has to speak out against such blasphemy. THERE IS ROOM FOR BOTH WORLDS! one is not greater than the other.
find your inner toon, geek. it’s probably dexter. or the brain. heh.
I did NOT say there wasn’t room for all… there certainly is a time for watching some good cartoons… but that time is NOT while you could be learning about the migratory patterns of unladen swallows or about the mating patterns of amazon fire ants…
On the other hand, assuming you can’t go outside and you have no books left to read… if the only thing on PBS is some retarded purple dinosaur then its time for Pinky to show us the way…
I am reminded of a time when I was around 9 or 10. I was home sick and lying on the couch in the basement with the television on. In came this fabulous older brother who threw a book at me and said the ever eloquent words of “TV rots your brain” and walked off…
I must have a brilliant older brother.
I don’t know zoo… geek was born as a grown up (at least I have always believed so)…
LOL. then he’s regressing.
whoah! how’d that happen? am i MAGIC?
You hit “reply” and it added your comment to mine
whatever! i’m magic! you can’t take that away from me!
(some of us were born children and stayed that way.) hehe
You must be magic… that’s obviously the only possible explanation
i’m just relieved to find out my mental doesn’t have to break up with either of your mentals. my mental would be sad without april and chameleon.
whew.
