Mobility

April 21, 2009

I’m in trouble! Punkin’ has reached that ever dreaded time. She is officially mobile. For weeks she has been rolling over and getting stuck on the walls and furniture. I could put a few chairs around and strategically keep her in one area.

Now though… now she is officially commando crawling. She can go anywhere, anytime, and no longer feels stuck. She gets angry if I don’t put her down… Perhaps it is a good thing that I shampooed the living room floor today. Ugh.

At least she is adorable. Makes up for the mobility. Almost.

  1. Well, as tough as it is, it’s a good thing, right? I think you would feel much worse if it didn’t happen! But that’s why kids are made adorable, and we love them for it.

(By the way, I am envious of your shampooed floor.)

  2. It is a very good thing that she is learning and advancing. It just means that the honeymoon stage where she stays where I put her is over. I mourn the loss yet celebrate her development…

  3. technically, you can still make her stay put. i’m pretty sure it wouldn’t fly with the police, but it could be done. lol. i’m just glad to hear she is growing and strong!

  4. two words: Velcro Onesie… she’ll stick nicely to that newly shampooed carpet…

You’ll find that the screaming ends after the first couple of days and she resigns herself to her newly “stuck” status.

  5. Sad how tempting that sounds…

  6. Good luck! – and I agree with April – sad how tempting the velcro onesie sounds – lol! :-D I’m at the stage where James can climb – lovely, lovely climbing stage
