M has discovered a “new” game. It is one that I remember well from my youth. My sister and I used to play this game every single Sunday while at church. You know, the meetings when you are under 12 and just plain bored?
Anyway I digress. The game, to us, was called Pig Pen. To M, it is the box game. Basically you have a group of dots in straight lines. Each person takes a turn drawing a straight line between dots, whoever can complete more boxes than the other wins. It is a very time intensive game.
The only problem is that I know how to play, and M wants to do nothing but play it. I was happy at first, but now I remember why I stopped playing the game. It is extremely repetitive and very boring. I am happy to play though, we even played for about an hour this afternoon.
I really need to teach L how to play. Then they can keep each other busy, not that I really minded playing with M. I quite liked the alone time we had anyway. I just think that I would have enjoyed coloring, cutting, or gluing more.
